INDUX-R is an application-driven project that has been conceptualized upon existing market demands and societal needs, where XR can make a difference by offering new business propositions and empowering humans. Five use cases are foreseen: i) the envisioned LiveMediaXR omniconference platform (UC1), ii) X-Ray vision for Industry 4.0 that will improve workers’ productivity and workspace safety (UC2), iii) virtual medical training for improving the learning experience for physicians (UC3), iv) large-scale 4D reconstruction of historical sites to preserve historical memory and promote cultural tourism (UC4), and v) the NOMADE cars racing immersion solution (UC5).
While these industrial ecosystems are certainly diverse, there is an overarching human-centric concept on demonstrating ways where XR can improve quality of life and promote social equality via more safe, beneficial and inclusive workspaces (UC2), easier access to knowledge (UC1, UC3, UC4), improved healthcare (UC3), unhindered social interaction (UC1) and high-quality recreation (UC4, UC5). As a human-centric project, INDUX-R has a strong participation of end-users in both the definition of the technological ecosystem but also on its testing and evaluation.
INDUX-R envisions a
human-centric XR ecosystem that will transform European industrial sectors by empowering humans and creating innovative XR products and services of significant added value
