Driven by the needs of Industry 5.0, INDUX-R aims to create an XR ecosystem that incorporates significant technological advancements beyond current offerings. The project will start by virtualizing the real world, allowing users to easily create realistic digital representations of their environments using standard hardware. This will involve further research into methods like Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), 3D scanning, and audio reconstruction.
Additionally, INDUX-R will develop an XR toolkit that includes two main features:
- Lifelike Face Animations: Using Transformers and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to create speech-driven, realistic facial movements.
- Photo-Realistic Avatars: Generating accurate human avatars that replicate motion and texture through 3D human pose estimation and local radiance fields.
In summary, INDUX-R is focused on building an advanced XR ecosystem that enhances user experience with realistic digital environments and lifelike avatars, leveraging cutting-edge technologies.
