Acciaierie d’Italia in A.S. participated in the National Conference of the Italian Association of Metallurgy (AIM), presenting the UC2 activities of the INDUX-R project.

G. Annicchiarico – Acciaierie d’Italia, Taranto presented:

“Predictive maintenance of bearings in rolls immersed in hot-dip galvanizing lines using extended reality and artificial intelligence algorithms.”

The presentation highlighted how INDUX-R is bringing advanced digital technologies directly into the industrial environment, addressing a real challenge in hot-dip galvanizing: monitoring bearings operating in demanding and difficult-to-access conditions.
Through Extended Reality, AI algorithms and advanced sensing technologies, UC2 explores how operators can gain a deeper and more immediate understanding of what is happening inside the production process — supporting the early detection of anomalies and predictive maintenance.
This means moving from reacting to equipment problems to anticipating them, with the potential to reduce unplanned downtime, improve maintenance efficiency and support safer, more informed decision-making on the shop floor.

X-ray Vision for Industry 4.0 (UC2)

The goal: greater efficiency, reduced downtime and smarter, more precise industrial workflows.

A powerful step towards the future of human-centric Industry 4.0.
