INDUX-R 5th Plenary Meeting at the UTAC Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome
- By Indux-R
The INDUX-R consortium recently gathered at the UTAC Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome for its 5th Plenary Meeting, marking a key milestone in the project’s journey toward large-scale industrial deployment. Partners reviewed the significant progress achieved to date, aligned on the final phases of implementation, and prepared for the upcoming validation activities that will demonstrate the impact of the INDUX-R ecosystem in real industrial environments.
Technology Foundations Successfully Completed
A major achievement highlighted during the meeting was the successful completion of Work Package 2, which delivered the core technological foundations of the INDUX-R ecosystem. The consortium has developed and integrated a comprehensive suite of software modules and toolkits that form the backbone of next-generation industrial XR solutions.
Key achievements include:
XR World Generation
Advanced toolkits for the photorealistic reconstruction of industrial environments using Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF), including innovative methods for room acoustics modelling and the creation of high-fidelity full-body avatars.
Realistic Animation and Motion
A complete SDK enabling realistic asset animation, featuring speech-driven facial expressions, emotion-aware deformable avatars, and advanced interaction algorithms for soft-body simulations, including medical training applications.
Computer Vision and Scene Analysis
Implementation of cutting-edge computer vision technologies, including Human Mesh Recovery, 3D pose estimation, real-time avatar animation, and audio enhancement techniques designed to support reliable communication in challenging industrial environments.
Adaptive User Interfaces
Development of dynamic user interface toolkits capable of assessing cognitive load and automatically adapting visual complexity and interaction modalities to ensure accessible, personalised, and efficient XR experiences.
From Development to Validation
With the technological foundations now fully operational, the project has entered its next phase, focusing on validation and large-scale evaluation. The consortium is transitioning from laboratory-based development to real-world industrial testing, where the performance, usability, and impact of the INDUX-R ecosystem will be assessed under realistic operational conditions.
Integration and Large-Scale Pilots
During the coming months, consortium partners will concentrate on:
- Final integration and optimisation of all system components to ensure seamless operation across the entire INDUX-R ecosystem.
- Execution of five large-scale pilot deployments that will serve as the project’s primary validation activities.
- Extensive user testing and performance assessment against defined industrial KPIs.
- Training workshops and deployment activities supporting end users across the pilot sites.
Looking Ahead
Following successful dry runs and preliminary testing activities, INDUX-R is now preparing for intensive pilot operations scheduled to culminate in October 2026. These large-scale demonstrations will showcase how human-centric, secure, and ethical XR technologies can support digital transformation across European industrial ecosystems.
The consortium remains committed to delivering innovative solutions that enhance productivity, collaboration, training, and operational efficiency while keeping human needs at the centre of technological development.
